Network Signal Study
Voluntary research data collection
What we collect
This page gathers technical signals that browsers and networks already expose during ordinary web browsing. Data is used only for research. It is not sold.
- Browser fingerprint attributes (canvas, WebGL, screen, timezone, languages, etc.)
- Public IP address and ASN / network ownership
- TLS handshake fields (negotiated version/cipher, plus offered ciphers/curves when available)
- Timing jitter measurements
- HTTP request headers
- Cookie availability and session cookie state
This is ordinary web exposure
Your IP address, request headers, cookies, and TLS details are visible to the server on every HTTPS visit. Many sites also measure browser attributes for analytics, fraud prevention, or ads. Independent tools below demonstrate the same class of signals — we are not inventing a new surveillance channel.
- EFF Cover Your Tracks — shows how uniquely your browser can be fingerprinted
- AmIUnique — research demo of browser fingerprinting attributes
- BrowserLeaks — IP, TLS, headers, canvas/WebGL, and related leak tests
- MDN: HTTP headers — browsers send headers with ordinary requests; servers see them by design
- RFC 9110 (HTTP Semantics) — header fields are part of normal HTTP
